While on duty at a bowling alley, Kain acted quickly to protect customers and employees as he came under
fire by suspected gang members.
To keep the shooters from reentering he planted himself without cover and began returning fire to keep the
shooters from being able to take aim and or reenter.  When asked why he didn't take cover he said I could
only think about protecting the people inside and making sure they didn't come back in!

Performed Hymlick maneuver to save co-worker who was choking.

MICHAEL P ROLFES Cincinnati OH
Michael was returning to his office after assisting Cincinnati Police in serving a warrant on an individual
when Michael witnessed a car crash into a lightpole. The subject was unresponsive and not breathing.
Several other bystanders worked to break out the victim's car window to extricate him from the vehicle while
Michael prepared to do CPR on him.  Michael was able do rescue breathing on the victim, who after 5
minutes, recovered and was sitting and talking in the back of the ambulance

Nebraska Furniture Mart security officer calmly stepped in and helped perform CPR.
Without him, and a nurse who was shopping in the store, the Rahman family said they believe they would
not have their baby girl today.
Mahira Rahman, who is not even 1 year old, suffered a seizure while the family was shopping

While on duty with Denver Health Systems the two responded to an accident off property where a vehicle had
plunged 20 ft off the road and into a river. The two scaled down the embankment jumping 10 feet and into
freezing water. Together they were able to cut the driver out of the overturned behicle, perfromed first aid and
saved the mans life.
